  • Most clients start with a block of 6 or 12 sessions and we meet every two weeks for 3 - 6 months.

A 6 session package looks like this:

1 x 30 min session in person or on Zoom.

In this short session we will get to know eachother, I will answer any questions you may have and we will decide if we are a good fit for coaching.

I believe the main determiner of any successful coaching relationship is rapport so we need to agree that we have this before we commit to a partnership.

    1 x 45 min contracting session.

In this session we will agree on the number of sessions, where we will meet and how often.

We will draft your coaching goals and set expectations for the coaching relationship. We will also agree the coaching approach eg coaching or coaching and mentoring.

I will send you the coaching agreement for you to sign, the invoice (to be paid in full before the first session) and a coaching questionnaire to complete before the first session.

6 x 60 min coaching sessions every two weeks.

Session 3 or 4: Reflection point. We will review your progress so far and also how the coaching relationship is going.

Clients can pause or cancel the coaching journey at any time.

This is a typical client journey but they are all tailored to the client’s individual needs.

  • Professional coaching focuses on setting goals, creating outcomes and managing personal change.

Sometimes it’s helpful to understand coaching by distinguishing it from other personal or organisational support professions.

Therapy: Therapy deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict within an individual or in relationships. The focus is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past that hamper an individual’s emotional functioning in the present, improving overall psychological functioning, and dealing with the present in more emotionally healthy ways.

Coaching, on the other hand, supports personal and professional growth based on self-initiated change in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes. Coaching is future-focused, and the coaching relationship emphasises action, accountability and follow-through.

Consulting: Individuals or organizations retain consultants for their expertise. While consulting approaches vary widely, the assumption is the consultant will diagnose problems and prescribe and, sometimes, implement solutions.

With coaching, the assumption is that individuals or teams are capable of generating their own solutions, with the coach supplying supportive, discovery-based approaches and frameworks.

Mentoring: A mentor is an expert who provides wisdom and guidance based on his or her own experience. Mentoring may include advising, counselling and coaching.

The coaching process does not include advising or counselling, and focuses instead on individuals or groups setting and reaching their own objectives.

Training: Training programs are based on objectives set out by the trainer or instructor. Though objectives are clarified in the coaching process, they are set by the individual or team being coached, with guidance provided by the coach. Training also assumes a linear learning path that coincides with an established curriculum.

Coaching is less linear, without a set curriculum.

  • This is a common concern for clients.
A session with me is often the first time that clients have ever felt truly listened to, without interruption or since having children. Understandably this in itself can be emotional.

I feel privileged to hold a safe space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without feeling judged.

The full spectrum of emotions is always welcomed in the coaching space. Emotional literacy is a powerful way to understand ourselves better. I believe emotions are signposts - they have a message and we would get curious about that.

Please be reassured that if I felt therapy would be more beneficial for you, I would raise this in the coaching space for our consideration. I am clear on my own professional limitations and ethical boundaries between therapy and coaching and adhere to the ICF’s code of ethics. And I would always discuss any concerns I had with my Supervisor if I was unsure.

  • You don’t! But I hope this helps you decide..

    1. Read the ICF’s tips on hiring a coach here

    2. I offer a free 30 min session so we can decide if we are a good fit. • You may feel a deep desire to know yourself better and make quicker, more confident decisions.

    • You may have experienced a life event that has shifted your perspective on life and you feel drawn to living life to the full

  • My coaching packages are all bespoke and tailored to your needs.

Rates start at £1800 for Corporates and £1200 for Individuals and Charities.

  • I think it’s a lovely idea but ideally coaching is a gift you should give yourself, not someone else.

This is because for it to be effective, you have to be fully committed. It takes a lot of courage to commit to the coaching process. It also takes courage to know when you are not ready.

Ultimately I believe coaching is most effective when the individual makes the decision to do it for themselves.
